Madhesi front forms a talk-team; announces to continue protests

As per the press release, the Madhesi front comprising four Madhes based parties formed a four-member talks team for negotiations with the major three parties on constitutional issues. The talk team consists of Sadbhavana Party Co-Chair Laxman Lal Karna, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Vice-Chairman Lal Babu Raut, Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) General Secretary Sarvendra Nath Shukla and Tarai-Madhes Sadbhavana Party, Nepal (TMSPN) leader Ram Naresh Ray.

The meeting of Madhesi front also decided to continue the protest programs including non-cooperation against the government, blockades at customs points and obstruction of highways.

Meanwhile, Madhesi front leaders argued that the government and major three parties are not serious about their demands. As the major political parties are focusing on government formation by ignoring our demands, ongoing protests, deaths in the Tarai and blockade.

Indo-Nepal Border blockade continues

Yesterday’s media report claiming that the blockade on vehicular movement at India-Nepal border had been lifted turned out to be untrue as the restrictions continued today. India has allowed mostly the containers carrying vegetables and fruits to cross the border into Nepal and stopped the ones carrying fuels.
